Italian Excellence Comes to Doha
B&B Italia renowned for creating innovative, iconic, and timeless pieces of design furniture has made its foray into Qatar with the opening of its first single-brand store in Doha in collaboration with its partner Bluu Casa.
Italy is the cusp of handmade designs and every Italian company takes pride in its workmanship as they take a commitment towards design excellence. B&B Italia, said to be one of the world’s premier design companies for creating the most innovative, iconic, and timeless pieces of design furniture has made its foray into Qatar with the opening of its first single-brand store in Doha in collaboration with its partner Bluu Casa. The evening saw several design professionals from around the world, grace the store and extend their support to the Italian design maestros. Present amongst Doha’s design professionals were Nada Debbs, Lebanese designer who has collaborations with IKEA and other design professionals to bring out products that straddle beauty and functionality.
Located in Msheireb Downtown Doha, the 300sqm one level showroom is touted as one of the most coveted, high-end design destinations featuring a wide selection of the latest collections from B&B Italia Group’s luxury brands, including Maxalto and B&B Italia Outdoor. Also displayed are the remarkable creations of internationally renowned designers such as Mario Bellini, eight-time winner of the Golden Compass Award, masters of contemporary design and architecture Antonio Citterio and Piero Lissoni, and Italian architect and design pioneer Gaetano Pesce among others.
Gilberto Negrini, CEO of B&B Italia said: “Doha is a very interesting design hub in the country, with a high potential, and we hope to inspire and engage Qatar’s capital city community through our brand heritage and passion as we showcase some of the world’s most iconic pieces of made in Italy furniture.”
Sustainable and historic furniture that has made headlines in the design industry in the 70s, the Camaleonda modular sofa by Mario Bellini, marks its presence at the Doha showroom in a newer and more comfortable version.
Another product, Serie Up by Gaetano Pesce, with its dynamic design with strong anthropomorphic references; reflecting the maternal laps of prehistoric fertility goddesses and a ball that served as a pouf connected to the body of the armchair. The image of comfort was therefore overlapped with the more figurative image of a woman with a ball at her feet.
In addition to showcasing B&B Italia’s latest collections, the store in Doha will provide professional services for clients, architects, and developers in the region, including design consultations and restoration for both residential and contract projects.
