Jaipur Rugs Collaborates with ISHO to Celebrate Mughal Heritage
From rural Rajasthan to Bangladesh: A collaboration celebrating the rich Mughal heritage of the two countries.
Jaipur Rugs identified as an ethical producer of handmade carpets believes in collaborations with designers and during the holy month of Ramadan they have collaborated with Bangladesh’s furniture brand ISHO to bring out an exclusive handmade carpet celebrating the shared Mughal heritage of the two countries.
ISHO along with Jaipur Rugs has developed an artistic representation of Bangladesh and India’s shared Mughal culture and architecture. This unique design that will be woven by Jaipur Rugs’ expert artisans in rural Rajasthan.
The rug, launched during Ramadan, serves as an auspicious year-round decorative piece. Its design has been conceptualized keeping in mind the variety, woven patterns, sizes of a modern home – executed using timeless craftsmanship of Jaipur Rugs.
The rug is displayed at ISHO’s curated exhibition space in Dhaka, where one can walk in and visualise the Mughal history and narrative unfold before their own eyes. The exhibition also highlights the prominent Mughal rulers and their contributions, and some of the most important and famous examples of Mughal architecture in Bangladesh, one of which is the Lalbagh fort. The design of which has been incorporated into the exclusive design rug.
