Ralph’s Coffee Truck in Doha
Ralph’s Coffee truck made its debut in Doha, marking the first time the signature mobile coffee bar has traveled to the Middle East. It is a collaboration between IN-Q Enterprises by Qatar Museums, Msheireb Properties, Whitney Robinson’s DW Northstar, and Ralph Lauren, as part of Qatar Creates, celebrating the best of arts and culture, fashion, and design.
Ralph’s Coffee truck, a hunter green 1965 Citroen, will first be parked inside the atrium lobby of M7, Qatar Museums’ new hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in fashion, design and technology. This is located in Msheireb Downtown Doha, a mixed-use development that is reviving the city’s historic core as a sustainable new live-work neighborhood. Following its stay at M7, Ralph’s Coffee truck will then travel to other Doha landmarks, including the Museum of Islamic Art, the National Museum of Qatar, the Fire Station: Artist in Residence, and Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art. A schedule is forthcoming.
To celebrate its inaugural visit to the region, Ralph’s Coffee truck will offer guests a specially crafted Doha Turmeric Latte and fresh baked goods featuring dates, nods to Qatar’s diverse culinary heritage. All proceeds from the sales from Ralph’s Coffee Truck will go towards artwork installation in Doha hospitals.
Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson, Qatar Museums said, “Like M7 itself, with its seven principles to guide Qatar’s creative industries, Ralph Lauren’s brand is dedicated to timeless style, protecting the environment, and improving people’s lives. The arrival of the vintage Ralph’s Coffee truck will enrich the enduring spirit of our city—already robust in fashion, tradition, and cultural diversity—while paying homage to the past and the legacy of the Ralph Lauren brand.”
M7 launched an online mentoring programme in May to help provide young designers the necessary tools, training, and resources to realize a career in the fashion and design industries. When M7 is officially inaugurated, it will offer a wide range of engaging programmes and exhibitions targeting both the general public and design community. Ralph’s Coffee truck was intended to launch in March as part of the designer townhouses at Mshereib—as envisioned and facilitated by design entrepreneur Whitney Robinson’s new company, DW Northstar, which specializes in experiential luxury rooted in exceptional design and the art of living well. The designer townhouses were unfortunately postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and will make their debut this summer.
