This year FROMM. attended their second Milan Design Week, the world’s largest and most prestigious design event bringing Qatari talent to showcase their designs to a global audience.

Continuing its global outreach, FROMM. has signed up with one of the finest Italian Galleries, the Rossana Orlandi Gallery, with locations in Milan and Sardinia, Italy to display its Shurouq Collection for a wider audience of design aficionados.

Rossana Orlandi who is now known as the doyen of design aesthetics started off with small pieces that were presented as an aesthetic dialogue where objects communicate with each other outside of place and time. Now this curious intelligence that has always been her compass led Rossana to travel around the world to bring an eclectic collection to her doorstep known as the RO Gallery.

A selection of the Shurouq Collection is displayed at the Gallery, featuring the exquisitely crafted Haima Armchair and pouf, side table, and free-form carpet. Designed by talented local designers Maryam Suwaidi and Shua’a Ali, these remarkable pieces represent a fusion of Arab design sensibilities with the finest Italian craftsmanship. This collaboration serves as a platform to introduce the beauty and creativity of Arab design to the discerning Italian market, while also highlighting the exceptional quality and attention to detail that comes with furniture made in Italy.

The Shurouq Collection which translates to “Dawn”, embodies part of the inspiration behind the collection. The dawn inspiration shines bright in the Collection through the varying gold tones and nuances. The designers of the Collection, Qatari artists and designers, Maryam Suwaidi and Shua’a Ali draw inspiration from cultural traditions while incorporating contemporary elements that appeal to modern tastes.
